What is the best Lighting arrangement for StopMotion Brickfilms ?
Stopmotion
3D animation is a term for an
animation technique which makes a inanimate
object appear to move. The object is animated by
moving the object manually between individually
photographed frames thus creating the illusion
of movement when the series of frames are played
as a continuous sequence. Clay figures are often
used in stopmotion animations, known as
claymation, for their ease of repositioning.
However LEGO characters and bricks are popular
for animation because they stay in position
between frames without the need for magnets,
wire frames etc. This form of 3D stopmotion
animation is called legomation or brickfilms.
You will need a
computer and some stopmotion animation
software. You will also need a good quality
webcam or a DV camcorder (or a camcorder with a
USB webcam type connection)
What's the easiest method or
material to work with?
Well we are biased
on this one..but in truth for ease of use you
can't beat LEGO bricks and characters.
How do I improve my Stopmotion?
In terms of
picture quality we would strongly advise a good
quality webcam or dv camcorder with a manual
zoom as a basic.
